Privacy Policy

Effective October 4, 2026

Basic Ministries operates The Corinthians website, phone app and team portal. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to you.

Information We Collect

We may collect information that you provide directly, including:

  • Name, email address, phone number, stage name, and team role.
  • Portal account information and communication preferences.
  • Meeting attendance, event check-ins, and visitor contact information.
  • Messages, song and project details, uploaded files, and other content you choose to share.

We may also collect limited technical information needed to operate and protect the site, such as browser type, device information, IP address, page visits, and security logs.

How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • Create and manage portal accounts and the team directory.
  • Coordinate meetings, events, attendance, songs, and creative projects.
  • Send requested account notices, team communications, reminders, and replies.
  • Maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the website and portal.
  • Comply with applicable legal, safety, and recordkeeping obligations.

Text Messaging

We send SMS messages only to people whose permission has been recorded. Messages may include meeting and event reminders, team announcements, music project updates, portal notices, and direct replies. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of membership.

Mobile information will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with third parties, except with service providers that are necessary to deliver and support the messaging service.

The Phone App

The app uses your existing approved portal account for team chat, shared lyrics and recordings. Session credentials are stored in the phone’s secure storage. Unfinished lyric and voice-to-text drafts are kept on the device so you can recover them; signing out does not erase those drafts. Shared lyric edits are sent to the server as you type.

Voice to text uses your phone’s speech service with your microphone permission. That service may process speech online according to its own privacy settings. The Corinthians app does not save dictated audio. Recognized words remain in a private draft until you choose to add them to shared lyrics. Files you deliberately upload are stored separately as song recordings.

Reports include the selected content, your explanation and your account identity for administrator review. Blocking preferences are stored with your account. Reported private messages are shared with administrators. Chat connected to GroupMe is also processed by GroupMe; blocking or hiding content here does not change copies there.

Service Providers and Disclosure

We may use trusted service providers for website hosting, email delivery, text messaging, file storage, security, and related operations. They may process information only as needed to provide those services. We do not sell or rent personal information. We may disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect people, rights, security, or the integrity of our services.

Data Retention and Security

We retain information for as long as it is reasonably needed for the purposes described above, including ministry operations, account administration, consent records, and legal obligations. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no online system can guarantee absolute security.

Your Choices

You may ask us to review or correct your contact information. You may unsubscribe from SMS messages at any time by replying STOP. You may also stop texts through Account in the app or Account & Texts in the portal. Stopping texts does not affect membership. Uninstalling the app does not stop texts. Administrators manage membership accounts and retain attendance records; signing out, uninstalling and stopping texts do not delete those records. Contact us about account access, privacy questions or requests concerning your information.

Children

The portal is not intended for children under 13 to use without the involvement and permission of a parent or legal guardian.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as our services or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top of this page identifies the current version.
